Recently we spent the whole day at the MATC Milwaukee Tech Lab getting busy with Autodesk Revit —real-world software the pros use. We spent time designing floor plans and structures, bringing our own imaginations to life with full storylines for every building idea!

The day went by in a blur because when you’re actually building your own reality, time doesn’t exist. This is what collaboration looks like in real-time—taking the tools and creating the blueprints. Sharing the TRUE Knowledge and sharpening our creative skills!! Massive shoutout to all the students that came out & all the amazing professional volunteers who pulled up for Day One of our Future Builders Weekend. Thank you for showing us the tips and helping us get started. We here on a Saturday morning putting all the pieces together.

When we helped launch Project Pipeline in Milwaukee in 2023, our goal was to give students a real look into architecture and what a career in the field could mean. The support was so strong that we expanded to Madison. That expansion led us to ask a bigger question: how do we actually build pathways? How do we make sure this isn't just a one-off experience, but real connections between students and professionals who can mentor them?
That question led to Future Builders — a network built alongside people from every corner of the AEC industry. Contractors, engineers, designers, BIM coordinators. They have shown they want young people connected to this work and want to be part of helping with that.
Taliesin Preservation has extended an invitation to host a two-day workshop in the fall of 2026 at their historic estate in Spring Green, bringing thirty students into direct experience with Frank Lloyd Wright's work.
This relationship with Taliesin connects us to the foundational work of American architecture — a history rooted right here in Wisconsin, built by an architect whose work the profession itself still looks to. It's a different vantage point than what we've built elsewhere, and it's broadening who we are as a program and what we can offer students.
Keep an eye out for additional posts in the coming weeks as we share how this partnership came together and how to support it!!
