In celebration of the 55th Annual Juneteenth Day, TRUE Skool proudly invites you to our 2026 Juneteenth Arts & Culture Zone  — a dynamic, youth and community artist-led interactive experience that transforms the area near King Dr. & Ring St. into a vibrant space of intergenerational creativity and engagement. 

Under the theme “Honoring the Past. Empowering the Future,”  6 local visual artists will compete in a live mural painting contest for cash prizes. The Arts & Culture Zone expands beyond our live mural contest featuring: interactive art, drum circles, music and entertainment.

Each year we welcome the production of new art that encapsulates the celebration’s unique theme by participating mural contestants. It’s all about creative story telling that celebrates the theme while uplifting the past year winners.

The Arts & Culture Zone serves as a living museum and preserves the previous year’s art through creative demonstration. You may have seen the MCTS bus wrapped with year 1 and 2 winners as a mobile gallery. 

We look forward to bringing fun with a new twist that you will have to see to believe!
