The fantastic folks at Floor360 Milwaukee do something called Design for a Difference where they select a community group or center that needs a makeover to their space in a major way. Walker's Point Youth & Family Center in Milwaukee was recently the recipient of a magnificent makeover all donated by area businesses and everyday people puttin in work!
WOW did it happen fast!
WPYFC is a safe space for teenagers who are experiencing homelessness which is at epidemic levels in the city of Milwaukee right now. Unfortunately they are one of the only couple shelters available and they don't even have more than 10 beds/spaces for youth that need it. There is a homelessness problem in Milwaukee that cannot and should not be ignored. We hope more people can step up and help our most vulnerable populations youth and families that need it the most.
The completed Design for a Difference interior makeover of Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center was unveiled to the leadership team and volunteers for the first time! It was an emotional and exciting day for both the design team who planned and executed the makeover as well as the leadership team and volunteers for the non-profit. FLOOR360 and Milwaukee Magazine are very proud to bring the Design for a Difference movement to the Milwaukee area. The local interior design community came together in June to start planning, then used their business connections to receive donations and installed their designs over two weeks while the Walker’s Point staff moved out....(from floor360.com)
