Bomb It! Movie Screening Thursday November 13th 2008 6:00-8:00pm
This documentary traces the graffiti arts movement back to paintings by Picasso and on through the 1970s in New York City. BOMB IT combines guerilla footage of artists at work around the globe with fresh perspectives on the art form.

Planet B-boy Movie Screening Thursday November 20th 2008 6:00-8:00pm
With compelling characters and vibrant dance sequences, Planet B-Boy is set in the International world of B-boying the urban dance more commonly known as break dancing. Weaving between the vivid backdrops of Osaka, Paris, Seoul and Las Vegas, unforgettable images frame the intimate stories of dancers who struggle for their dreams despite being misunderstood by larger society and even their own families.

Gallery Night @
April to June 2007

TRUE Skool displayed work from various local and national Graffiti artists at Pyramax Bank located at 318 N. Water Street
during the Historic 3rd Ward's Gallery Night held April 20th and 21st.
Artwork remained on display until June 2007.
Artists include: POOH BEAR, From the Soul, E.White, Starks, F.W. Kaems, AND, Alex Solis, COPE2, T-KID, KET, Quetzal, and XMEN.

11.30 T.R.U.E. Skool made a presentation about our organization and Graffiti Initiative and displayed Graffiti Art from our 3rd Annual Block Party this past summer at the Sociocultural Department's Event at UW-Milwaukee.

T.R.U.E. Skool presents at UW-Milwaukee's Common Ground Conference January 27th. The Common Ground Conference is a one-day community/university event to be held on the UW-Milwaukee campus that will address building coalitions against racism and priviledge in greater Milwaukee. T.R.U.E. Skool presents on how we use Hip Hop to address and find solutions for these issues.

 

 

2005 Events


October
T.R.U.E. Skool attended E*Vision, a Youth Sustainability Conference, in Santa Fe, NM Oct. 7th & 8th, 2005. We discussed what role Hip Hop plays in the community when it comes to sustainability. T.R.U.E. Skool conducted a workshop on Hip Hop as a Social Movement and worked with New Mexican teens to create action plans for change. T.R.U.E. Skool conducted "Graffiti as an Art" workshop at a Milwaukee Public School, West Side Academy School, for 7th graders. Thanks to Mrs. Dolphin and her English classes for sharing their time with us!
