TRUE SKOOL'S 4TH ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY PRESENTS...GRAFFOLOGY!
w/Special Guest...The Legendary COPE2!

TRUE Skool will hosted its 4th Annual Block Party on Saturday July 19th 2008 from 10am-6pm at Project Excel on Milwaukee’s near south side. TRUE Skool’s Graffiti Art and Community Service Program participants 12-22 years old were instrumental in the planning of this event which provided an opportunity for our students and volunteers to give back to the community through an illegal graffiti/community clean up. TRUE Skool hosted this event along with the following sponsors:

The event provided local and national Graffiti Artists an opportunity to compete for prizes in a live legal and safe graffiti art competition. The competition consisted of two categories, one for youth 17 and under and one for young adults ages 18 and older that painted on canvasses for separate 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prizes.

TRUE Skool brought back our special guest COPE2, world renowned Graffiti Artist, who participated in painting a community mural on 12th & National Ave with our Graffiti Art students July 18th. COPE2 also judged the Graffology event July 19th. DJ Kid Cut Up provided the music for the event. Wilde Scion’s car club was in attendance with Scion cars. Wilde Scion provided artists with wheel covers (hubcaps) that they used to create custom, one-of-a-kind aerosol art pieces. Wilde Scion had a drawing for these custom-designed hubcaps for those who signed up for Scion’s VIP list.

The theme for this category was THE FOUR ELEMENTS OF HIP HOP; DJ, BREAKDANCE, MC, GRAFFITI.

1st Place Prize = Winner will have artowrk displayed in the store front window at Urban Outfitters located at 1937 E. Kenilworth Place Oct. 15th-Nov 1st 2008, along with a prize pack with a $100 Gift Card from Utrecht Art Supply Store, Tribal Gear t-shirt, DVD & CD, stickers, Tatoot Bag, and more!

2nd Place Prize = Prize pack with a $50 Gift Card from Artist & Display art supply store,a Blackbook signed by COPE2, MODA3 gear,Tribal Gear t-shirt, DVD & CD, stickers, Tatoot Bag, and more!

3rd Place Prize= Prize pack with Hot Pop T-shirt, Tribal Gear t-shirt, DVD & CD, stickers, Tatoot Bag, and more!

18 and older Category

The theme for this category was COMIC BOOK/STRIP THEME.

1st Place Prize = Winner received a $500 contract w/Tatoot Bags to design artwork to be used on merchandise that will be manufactured and distributed nationwide in retail stores, Tatoot Backpack, Tribal Gear T-shirt, DVD & CD, and more!

2nd Place Prize = Prize pack with a $100 Gift Card from Utrecht Art Supply Store, Tribal Gear t-shirt, DVD & CD, stickers, Hot Pop gear and books, Tatoot Bag, and more!
