COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM

Through the support of Safe & Sound funding, we have partnered with Community Partners, Home Depot and the Milwaukee Municipal Courts to recruit and refer young people who are in the juvenile court system, First Time Juvenile Offender Programs, and those identified as at-risk for tagging/vandalism related offenses and gang members to our Elements Classes, workshops and Community Service Program at TRUE Skool.

Community Partners working together with TRUE Skool’s youth participants, staff, volunteers, and UWM’s and MATC’s Service Learning students will work together to identify areas in our target neighborhoods that are hot spots for tagging. Participants will also work with students of the Graffiti Art Classes, residents, businesses, Home Depot and local law enforcement agencies on abatement projects, educational workshops and community murals that will discourage and reduce the number of tagging incidents in our target areas. This initiative will be lead by youth who participate in the Graffiti Art classes and youth referred to our Community Service Program who have tagging/vandalism related offenses or are at risk for police arrests.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this program please contact us to learn how to participate.
